Affinity customizable sketchbooks was created for my senior Capstone/thesis project to demonstrate a wide array of skills I had accumulated over my years at Maryville University. Implimenting logo + branding design, interactive web layouts, and motion graphics, this fictional brand of personalized sketchbooks comes to life.
Affinity took about a month of constant reworking until I found the perfect identity that most eloquently communicates the personality I intended for the brand to have.
The grunge aspect was, at first, at the forefront of the design; but it soon took a backseat to be a subtle touch rather than an overwhelming element. Since the product had an emphasis on organization and efficiency, the brand personality needed to be a bit cleaner, and perhaps less eclectic or noisy for this reason.
Above all, Affinity is friendly, approachable, but still elegant with its simplicity, and conveys an air of professionalism that most designers crave.
